Dr Björn Rafn Gunnarsson is a data scientist with a rich background in the development of AI-based support systems for organizations and businesses, holding a PHD in the field. He is currently the Lead Data Scientist for the J10 StratCom division at the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), where he is responsible for all data related aspects of the current development of the Information Environment Assessment Capability.

The IEA branch serves as the understand function for J10 StratCom and responsible for analyzing the performance of owned, earned, and hostile communications within the information space.

Before his time at NATO, Dr Gunnarsson was a researcher at KU Leuven, where his research focused on developing AI-based support systems for businesses and organizations. His work has been published in renowned international journals and presented at top conferences.
